Hong Kong Events - November 2027

What November 2027 is like in Mong Kok

November is the milder of Hong Kong's two driest months, and the numbers are unusually kind for a street market. The Observatory's 1991–2020 normals give a mean temperature of 22.2 °C, a mean daily maximum of 24.5 °C, 39.3 mm of rain across the whole month — about six rain days on average — and 0.57 days under a tropical-cyclone warning signal. Only December is drier (28.8 mm), and December is four degrees cooler.

That combination is the argument for November as a walking month: no umbrella decision, no afternoon heat, and an evening that stays comfortable for two hours on the street. Which is just as well, because November 2027 has no general holiday at all — the gazetted 2027 list skips August and November. Nothing on this page rests on a long weekend; the month is carried by what is on view.

Exhibitions on view all month — November's anchor

Hong Kong Palace Museum — Brilliance: Ming Dynasty Ceramic Treasures from the Palace Museum, 1368–1644

Confirmed, and dated for every day of November. This is a real November listing rather than a month-level maybe: the exhibition runs from 1 July 2026 to 2 January 2028 in Gallery 3 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum in West Kowloon, so it is on every day of the month.

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 10:00–18:00; Friday, Saturday and public holidays until 20:00; closed Tuesdays. Admission as published on 26 October 2026 was HK$70 adult and HK$35 concession for the regular ticket, or HK$90 and HK$45 for a flex ticket — check the museum's own page before you go, because prices move and this page will not pretend otherwise.

Over a hundred Ming pieces from the imperial collection, in three sections across the dynasty: the strongest single-room answer to a wet afternoon or a cool one, and the reason a November trip needs no event to justify it.

M+ — M+ Sigg Collection: City Lives

Open through November, confirmed from August. The fourth outing of the M+ Sigg Collection opened in the Sigg Galleries in August 2027 and runs on through the month. It traces Chinese contemporary art's move from socialist-realist painting towards private, intimate work.

M+ — Do Ho Suh: Belonging

Open through November, confirmed from September. The South Korean artist's first institutional solo show in Greater China opened in the Main Hall Gallery in September 2027 — life-size fabric replicas of the homes he has lived in. Two M+ shows and the Palace Museum are three indoor anchors inside one month; they are the reason this page does not need a festival to stand up.

Still to be confirmed

Hong Kong WinterFest. The city's Christmas lighting programme usually switches on in early November. The 2026–27 edition ran from 1 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with the Christmas Town in Statue Square Gardens in Central and the city's tallest outdoor Christmas tree, per the Tourism Board's own listing. Nothing has been published for 2027–28, so the switch-on date is a window here, not a date.

HKTDC International Wine & Spirits Fair. HKTDC's own fair page carries only the 2026 edition, 5–7 November 2026. No 2027 dates are published — a trade directory carrying one is not the organiser — so this page prints none.

Classes and workshops — the month to use them

November is the month the rolling layer earns its place: no holiday to organise around, the mildest dry weather of the year, and long evenings. Two of the three below are things you can actually book; the third is a hotel amenity and is labelled as one.

Daily tai chi with the resident master — Cordis, Hong Kong

9–10am, poolside on Level 42 at 555 Shanghai Street, a few minutes from the market. Complimentary for in-house hotel guests only, and it needs booking in advance on (852) 3552 3510. If you are staying elsewhere, this is the one entry here that is not open to you.

LCSD district recreation programmes — Yau Tsim Mong

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department runs tai chi and sports courses year-round through its district leisure-services offices, and some of them are free. If you want a class without a hotel booking, this is where to start. Fees are set per programme and the list is seasonal, so check lcsd.gov.hk for November's rather than relying on a figure printed here.

Cantonese cooking and pastry courses — Hong Kong New Oriental Culinary Art

Small-group Cantonese and pastry courses in certificate and masterclass formats at 93 King's Road, North Point — Hong Kong Island, not Mong Kok, so it is a cross-harbour half-day. The school's own site lists fees in the HK$5,500–6,800 range depending on format.

Before you go

Ladies Market trades 12:00–23:00 daily and closes only on the first day of Chinese New Year, so the absence of a November holiday changes nothing about the stalls. November is the month to walk between markets rather than take the MTR, and the Hong Kong markets comparison is the page that decides which are worth the walk; stall-level detail is on stalls and opening hours, and prices on the 2027 price guide.

How to keep up

This page is checked monthly and only what a source dates appears as a date. The listings that move first are the Hong Kong Tourism Board's events pages — WinterFest is theirs — the LCSD programme list, Time Out Hong Kong, and hkpm.org.hk and mplus.org.hk for anything that could change its run dates. This page was last checked on 26 October 2026.

Confirmed vs expected: November 2027 has no general holiday, so no entry here is a holiday; the three exhibitions are confirmed to be on view through the month (the Palace Museum's Brilliance until 2 January 2028, both M+ shows opened earlier in 2027), while WinterFest's switch-on and the Wine & Spirits Fair's 2027 dates are unpublished windows and are not printed as dates.

SHOPPING AND FOOD

While often visited for the view the visitor should not forget that The Market encompasses a wide range of shopping and eating choices. Mongkok is well known for snack food and as well as budget choices.
